Auto Insurance Claims: Car Insurance, state of tennesse, mary snyder

Question
I was the President of Talltower Inc. until it went defunct in 2004. Mary Snyder was our Secretary-Treasurer at that time and was released. She at the time was responsible for renewing our fleet of vehicles. She has not been involved with the company for seven years. However, one of these vehicles was involved in a snow storm last year and the registration was still "Talltower Inc. or Mary Snyder". She has had no involvement with this company for seven years or no contact but the State of Tennesse is wanting to revoke her license.

Answer
Hi Charles,

It sounds like they want to revoke her license because the vehicle was uninsured at the time of the accident and she is listed as an "owner" of the vehicle. Hopefully you are still in touch with her. You will need to prepare a notorized statement as the president of the company indicating that she was only acting on behalf of the company and has not been with the company for the past seven years. She will need to also do the same. Then If you can get to some intelligent life at the DMV you may be able to get this reversed. Although, there will be some splain'n to do as to why he name was still on the registration of a vehicle that is now gone that she has not worked for in seven years.

You may ultimately need to hire an attorney to unravel this.

I hope this helps
