Auto Insurance Claims: Someone hit my car when parked, side fender, insurance premium

My car was parked in a public parking lot and someone Hit it and ran away. Right hand side fender is damaged and scratches in front. Now for repair, should I go through my insurance or pay it out of my pocket. this is 2nd incident on this car. :ast year had similer case when it was parked in my apartment parking and another person Hit it.
                     If I claim the repair through my insurance then will it increse my insurance premium? Last time it was not increased..

Hi Sandeep,

Only you can decide if you should make a claim. The first step would be to go to a body shop to get an estimate of the cost to repair. If the amount is small then you should consider paying it yourself. If it is expensive then you may want to make a claim. If you make a claim it may have an affect on your premiums. Only your insurance company can tell you for sure. Each company has its own rules and rates.
