Auto Insurance Claims: help!, no fault auto insurance

Question
someone crashed into my car (they went into the back of me). I have their details and the name of their insurance company BUT, i am not insured. Do I have to be insured for my car to get fixed?

Answer
No, unless you live in a "no fault" state. Only a few states have "no fault" insurance laws, which means each driver is paid by their own insurance. However its different in each of those states. Some may only apply to bodily injuries. Telephone your local small claims court and ask the clerk if you can sue for automobile property damage. You can also call a local "accident attorney" in the yellow pages. They should not charge for such a simple question.
