my claims settlement remains in dispute as per insurance company, what does it mean?

Answer
I'm not exactly sure with so little information but it might mean that they are not sure that they are going to pay you OR that they are not decided on how much to pay you.  Call your insurance agent and ask them what's happening.  Sometimes they can expedite the situation.
