Auto Insurance Claims: park lot bumper damage by truck, giving me a hard time, collision report

hi charlie...here it goes,simply, i work 4 bell and parked my car appropriately and left the site, a bell cable truck hit the front bumper and cracked it in half damage 700.00$ This tech later found me and admitted all fault/responsibility. We both went to police 4 collision report. My insurance, the personal is giving me a hard time saying they want all info, my ownership, ministry of transport papers, etc etc...and saying this may not b covered if not submitted in 14 days?? Whats your take on this idiocy? Thks

Why not submit a claim through the bell cable liability carrier? Since you have the police report to support your claim, there should be no problem with that. I have never heard of a 14 day limit on the time to report a claim under a policy. The longer the insurance company holds your money, the more interest they make on the funds. While it may not be much on your claim, but if 1000s of policyholder delayed making their claims, the net could be substantial.
