Auto Insurance Claims: My insurance got cancelled., policy cancelled

Hi,
I have asked my agent to cancel my insurance policy as of September 1, 2009, as I am moving out of country, but he cancelled my policy as of August 1st. Can I drive my car (now that it is without any insurance). I have an email from my auto insurance agent as a proof. Since I am moving out of country for a very long time, I do not have time for unnecessary hassles.

It depends on the state. If your state requires liability insurance, then you are not supposed to drive it. Call your DMV to find out. More important is that your claim would not be covered if you had an accident. You should be able to just telephone your agent and tell him to reinstate the policy for another month.
