Auto Insurance Claims: auto claim, auto claim, liability coverage

Question
While backing out of my driveway I hit my own vehicle.  the vehicle I was driving had total coverage while the vehicle I hit only has liability coverage.  Both vehicles have damage what is covered.

Answer
Hi Dean,
Only the vehicle that you were driving will be covered subject to your deductible.
You can't collect for property damage to your own property, be it
another owned auto or the garage door of an owned residence.
If you carried collision on the second vehicle then both would have been covered under collision and your deductible would have applied to each.
I hope that you find this information to be of help.  Your feedback by rating my response will be appreciated.

Sincerely,
