Auto Insurance Claims: Totalled Car - Which insurance to claim?, freak accident, comprehensive insurance

Question
Hello,
My car got totalled while on business due to a freak accident. My personal comprehensive insurance is underway to look at the damage. My employer's liability insurance is also prepared to reimburse for damages. Is it ok to claim insurance from both companies since one is comprehensive and other is liability? I do have 2 claims filed just in case. Or is that illegal? If I have to chose one, which one is my better bet?

Answer
It is illegal to make a profit on an insurance claim, but the company that offers you the best settlement is the obvious choice. Get both companies to look at the car and accept the highest offer. Obviously the liability carrier's figure will not be subject to a deductible.
