Auto Insurance Claims: UIM, lunch break, work related injury

Question
Hello,

I know I can use my UIM benefit as a pedestrian however, can I use my employer's UIM also?  I was hit by the car during my lunch break and all my medical bills are being covered under worker's comp.  My insurance told me that I probably won't need my UIM however, I want to be on the safe side.

Thanks

Answer
Hi Daniel,

Since this is being considered a "work related" injury and is being covered by workers comp, you would not be able to collect from your employers UIM coverage. The employers liability is limited when it is a workers comp claim.

I hope this helps
