Auto Insurance Claims: Forgot to mention ticket when I got new insurance, insurance comapny, new insurance

Question
I got new insurance last August through Liberty Mutual. It is an annual policy. I recently reviewed the policy and noticed that they only noted that I have one driving violation when I actually have two. I am not sure whether or not I told them about both when I got the policy or if they just went by what was listed on my driving record they pulled. (The second ticket was received shortly before I got the new insurance.) My question is should I call the insurance company now and let them know about this oversight? Is there any benefit to doing this? If I don't call them and I get in an accident or something will my policy be void? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Answer
Hi Jen,

You should not worry about this. The insurance company pulled your driving record and issued the policy based on that information. After 30 or 60 days (depending on your state) there is nothing the insurance comapny can do. When your policy comes up for renewal they will run your driving record again and will adjust your renewal premium accirdingly. But for now there is nothing for you to do. If you are involved in a collision, the insurance company will pay the claim just as they are supposed to.

I hope this helps
