my son just had an accident and his car was totaled. is it best for him to get a lawyer for injury compensation or go through injury compenstion through insurance company

I will say this and there are many caveats because I know nothing about your specific situation, no fault state etc.

The insurance company is not going to look out for his interests like an attorney would. Personally, I would recommend consulting with an attorney. Most times, the consultations are at no cost and at least that way, you would know where the situation stands.
