Answer
Hi Karen,

I think if you are referring to a theft claim, you need to go to the last link on the site http://www.autotheftexpert.com dealing with insurance denial.

Chances are real good that your name has been put on a secret list shared by all insurance companies as committing insurance fraud. Try submitting a claim with any insurance company in the future.
Chances are very good that you will be denied in the future.

If you had a part in the theft of your car, be grateful they won't prosecute however, if you had nothing to do with the theft, fight them tooth and nail because most act like the john Grisham movie "Rainmaker."

If you are innocent and the insurance company states they have a forensic expert that determined a key of the proper type was used, you need to fight it. 99% of the time the insurance experts favor their client and will implicate the insured.
I commonly oppose these "experts" and our side commonly prevails becuse it is found their conclusions are not based on fact, but merely their opinion as a locksmith that would need to make a key to steal the vehicle.

You did not state where you are located, but in Michigan, the experts in many cases have no automotive background whatsoever!

You need to check out the site I referrenced. It will answer many of your questions.
