Auto Insurance Claims: insurance claim, insurance claim, insurance damages

Question
I am a truck driver and used to park my car outside the yard whenever i pick up my truck.

two months back,My car was stripped out while it was parked outside the yard.
all the wheels, seats, radio, everthing was stolen.

Once i was back from east coast, i reported progessive immediately and they send a auditor and he said it was totalled and it would take a week to process the payment.

after, few weeks they come back to me and say something seems suspicious and they are investigating.
Now its been more then two months, with no car and have a hard time going to work.
I can buy a new car, but want to clear the loan on my old car first.
I am still making the payments for my old car.

The insurance company is giving me a hard time.I have paid my progessive monthly installments on time.

what should i do. help me.

Answer
Well,

If your insurance company has suspicion of fraud or believe something is up, they can delay a claim. It is unfortunate because you are still require to make payments on the loan and make payments for insurance, etc.

Most states requires that the insurance company do an investigation within 30 days, however, at the end of 30 days, they have to give you a specific answer of where the investigation is (in writing).

The next thing you should do also, is to contact the office of the insurance commissioner or the department of insurance. Different states call it different things. Here is a link (follow the link and go to the table at the bottom of the page) to find your state.
