Auto Insurance Claims: Filing a claim and language, fender bender, left hand

Question
Hi and thanks for taking my question. I was recently involved in a small fender bender where I was making a left hand turn and failed to see the car (now known as car A) coming from the right. Because both of the damages were small and we both didn't know what to do we didn't call the cops but now we're about to file our claims. Would the lack of a police report hurt just me or both of us? Also, it looks as though his rear left bumper scraped my front right fender causing damage to both our cars. Who, then is at fault? Lastly, when filing a claim and a statement, what kind words should I stick with and stay away from?

Answer
There is no way that I can determine fault without a great deal more information.

The lack of a police report will make no difference if you are each filing under your own policies.  If you are going to pursue his policy, the lack of a police report will only matter if he is denying liability and vice versa.

Never found any words to tell people to avoid other than the ones that are not true.
