Auto Insurance Claims: Denial of my claim., letter of complaint, own car

Question
To start off I am 21. I was driving my parents car when I got into a accident with another vehicle. (No injuries, just body damage to the vehicle). I filed a claim with the insurance company, in which I am under the policy as a "temporary" driver. Over a month later, I am informed that the claim was denied. They said it was because I was a temporary driver and something about I wasn't suppose to drive that often. I'm not sure because I haven't received the letter. I need some advice? can I file an appeal? or get a lawyer? because the damages is very steep.

Answer
I've never heard of a "temporary" driver status.  Must be something that is either exclusive to your state or insurance company.

You asked if you can get a lawyer.  Anyone can get a lawyer.

File an appeal?  I've never seen a formal process but you can certainly send a letter of complaint.

As I have no idea what your insurance company based their denial on, there is no way that I can give you any further advice.

I can tell you that if your living with your parents, are over 16, do not have your own car or insurance and are driving their car without them paying premiums for you to do so,,,then you are not insured.
