Auto Insurance Claims: Got new damage on the same part ever claimed before, insurance comapny, insurance company

Question
QUESTION: My car bump slightly hit the other vehicle about one year ago. The other car had no damages. Only my car bump got a slight crack. I claimed it with my insurance. The insurance has paid me the check after deductible for the replacement of the bump. I did not have the car fixed. Today my car hit a suddenly crossing road dog in the evening. The bump got new damage. If I claim it with the insurance, will the insurance be liable to pay me a new payment for the same part but different claim/damage?

ANSWER: Hi Ray,

If the insurance comapny has already paid you to repair the bumper and you did not repair the bumper they will not pay for it again.

I hope this helps

QUESTION: You said, “If the insurance comapny has already paid you to repair the bumper and you did not repair the bumper they will not pay for it again.”

Is it because the bumper was not fixed before or the insurance company just pays for the same part of the vehicle one time only regardless of how many damages in that part in the future? Can you clarify your answer?

Answer
Hi Ray,

It is because it was not fixed from the first incident. If you had repaired or replaced the bumper from the first incident then the insurance comapny would pay for it again. But, when they have paid for repairs that were not done they are not going to pay for them again.
