Auto Insurance Claims: comprehensive claim, property management company, catalytic converter

Question
I had my catalytic converter stolen from my truck, it was cut off in less than 30 mins while I was getting a haircut. filing the claim on my insurance under comprehensive damage do I still have to pay my deductible? Does the property management company have any liability?

Answer
Hi Shawn,

The property management company has no liability in this situation.  Yes, you have to pay your comprehensive deductible. The insurance company may also depreciate the converter for the time you have already used. You should get a price to replace it before you make the claim because it may be less than your deductible.

I hope this helps
