Auto Insurance Claims: listed drivers on policy, policyholder, insurance policy

Question
Insurance companies ask  for the number of people in a household that drive an insured vehicle to be listed at the time of purchase of an insurance policy. If someone not listed on policy drives the vehicle; driving policyholder to hospital and an accident occurs; would the insurance company refuse to pay the claim?

Answer
Hi Carl,

If the driver lived in the household at the time the policy was taken out and was not disclosed as a driver on the application then probobly there would be no coverage. If the driver moved in after the police was in force then the claim should be paid.

I hope this helps
