Auto Insurance Claims: Hit and run, collision coverage, stelling

Question
I drove my daughter to school everyday. But today is really my bad day, I was in a line going straight and a truck on the opposite direction make a turn and hit on my car. The truck hit and run, and that time I'm trying to control the stelling and I cannot see the truck plate, but my daughter she write down the truck company name. And my insurance company tell me withot the plate number the chances to claims is really hard. So, tell me am I've have to pay for the $3000.00 repair or can you tell me any other way to claim.
Thanks.

Answer
Hi Leo,

Even though you do not have the plate number, you should still try to file a claim with the business that owns the truck. They may be able to know who was in that area on that day. You should also call the police to file a report and tell them of the hit and run. They will send a police officer to the business the inspect their trucks for damage. If they can confirm the damage, the driver will be issued a ticket for hit & run.

If it turns out that you can not prove your claim, then you would have to either pay for the damage yourself or make a claim with your insurance company if you have collision coverage.

I hope this helps
