Auto Insurance Claims: car total, nissan murano, comparable vehicles

Hi!my car Nissan murano SL full equipment has been total and the insurance responsible is offering $19000. i have done my home work and base on that i was expecting 23 to 24 thousand dollars, please help me i don't know what will be the best way to deal with the agent cence at these point they are expecting a counter offer. i thank you for your time

Hi Gloria,

You should go to www.autotrader.com . There you can search for currently for sale vehicles like yours in your area. You should do a search within 50 miles of your zip code. Look for vehicles that are closest to your in options and mileage. Print out at least 5 comparable vehicles and average the values to develope an overall average value of your car. If the number is better than the insurance company offered you then you can send them the information you printed out to help you in the negotiations.
