Auto Insurance Claims: factory warranties, original equipment manufacturer, factory warranties

Question
as earlier,, my truck was involved in an accident, not my fault. now state farm refuses to acknowledge my question "what happens to my factory warranty" since most of the damage happened to the drivetrain/steering components of the truck. The truck having only 22,000 miles it is covered 7year 70,000powertrain warranty expect the engine is 7year 100,000. Does this mean i loose all of my warranties once repairs are made or when the collision occured. even arizona dept. of insurance has no answer for this, "what happens to my factory warranty"

Answer
Hi James,
You must do everything to assure that the mechanical components are replaced with NEW Original Equipment Manufacturer parts (OEM).
If you allow State Farm to put used parts or non OEM mechanical parts
on your truck, that will VOID your warranty.
Your dealer will give you a letter to this effect that you can show State Farm.  If there is still a problem, you should file a complaint with the department of insurance, although it sounds like they are not very helpful.

Is State Farm the insurance company of the person that hit you or are they your own company?  If they are not your own company, you should consider processing the claim through your own company and have them subrogate recovery from State Farm.

I hope this information has been of help.  Please write again if you feel that I can be of more assistance.
Sincerely,
Bennie
