Auto Insurance Claims: auto insurance, can I be on my parents policy?, first sports, loaded gun

Hi, I'm nineteen years old, and I am looking to buy my very own first sports car, but insurance is going to be out of the roof! So to avoid that, I was wanting to get on my parent's insurance, I mean is that possible without the car indeed being in his name? What would someone in my situation do??

Hi Nick,

Your parents will need to call their insurance agent to see what their procedure is and what the cost would be. There may be a slight savings being on your parents policy but the insurance for a 19 year old in a sports car will still be very expensive. It's like giving a loaded gun to a 5 year old.
