My car, a 99 camry w 107,000 m in good condition was totaled while parked, by a drunk driver. what can I do to get max payment? I had collision ins w geico, live in brooklyn ny

Hi Bernard,

You will need to research the value of your car. You should visit www.autotrader.com where you can search for vehicles currently for sale in yur area. You should look for vehicles with the same year, make, model, options and similar mileage. You should locate 5 to 7 vehices and average to values to get a good idea of the value in your area. Then when the insurance company makes you an offer you will know if it is a fair offer. If not send them the info you have found and use it to negotiate a better settlement.
