Auto Insurance Claims: car rental claim ?, mail return receipt, state insurance commissioners

I was hit by a person who ran a stop sign in rental car,he was working for a company that rented the car for  him and other employees.The police were on scene and diver was ticketed for ftytrw.I was NOT ticked as I had no traffic control.

I only have liability insurance,my car was totaled and my passenger was hurt minor.we have 2000,00 in med bills alone.

Its been 4 weeks and the rental car company will not give any info to me,the company that rented the car will not give any info.I have the drives name etc from the police report but he gave the renal car company insurance info to the police and its useless.What can I do ? THANK YOU !

Hi Jo,

You should send a letter by certified mail/ return receipt requested to the driver, the company he worked for and the rental car company, staing the facts of the accident, the fact that the driver was cited and demanding that liability be accepted and the claim be handled in a timely manner. You should demnad a response within 5 days.

You can also contact your state insurance commissioners office to file a complaint against the insurance companies involved.

Beyond that the only thing you can do is to file a law suit.
