Auto Insurance Claims: windshield, auto insurance claim, time claim

Question
Do I have to pay my deductible to get my windshield replaced when it was not my fault.  Is there a no-fault one time claim?

Answer
Hi Melody,

Deductibles always apply regardless of fault. They try to discourage you from making lower amount claims. Windshield claims are no different.

Some insurance companies will waive your deductible if you agree to fix the windshield and not replace it, but you need to check with your carrier first. If they do not waive the deductible, then you probably have to replace it and pay what ever your comprehensive deductible is.

Yeah, 99% no one is at fault in this type of claim.

Good Luck,
