Auto Insurance Claims: Cant Process Claim Due to Non-Response, own insurance, party insurance

Question
Driving in the parking lot, a car backed into mine, causing damage. We exchange info. Reported to the other party insurance. It's been 2+ weeks. The other insurance stated that they have not been able to get a hold of their insurer. After a week, lo & behold, this person contacted my insurance co. & said it was my fault that I hit and kept going. After seeing my car, my adjuster already knew this person story was full of holes. However, this person still has not contacted their own insurance, and their insurance stated they can't process anything until they can get a hold of their insurer. What can I do beside dealing with my own insurance co. which I don't want to do since I will have to pay deductible + my rate may go up as a result if they can't  collect.

Answer
Hi Ghozali,

If you have the at-fault persons name and address, you could send him a certified letter demanding that he contact his insurance company and tell the truth or you will file a law suit against him.

Other than that the only thing you can do is to put the claim through your own insurance company.

I hope this helps
