Auto Insurance Claims: new money, housecleaner, term injuries

What is meant by "new Money" in settlements?

Hi Marie-

My understanding of this term is that it is money over and above reimbursement for medical bills or lost wages.  For long term injuries mostly if you can show your damages are going to effect your ability of future income and/or lifestyle (i.e. you can longer clean your house so you need a housecleaner and the cost would be $X).
