Auto Insurance Claims: insurance claim, insurance claim, sworn statement

Question
My laptop was damaged in an auto accident that was not my fault. The laptop was thrown away with the rest of the debris in the accident, so how do I prove the laptop was damaged so that the insurance company pays for it.

Answer
Hi Chris,

Unfortunately, there is no way unless you can get a sworn statement from the specific person who picked it up, saw that it was damaged and threw it away. There must be specific evidence that the laptop existed, that it was in your car at the time of the accident, that it was damaged in the accident and that a specific person saw this and without regard for preserving the damaged item as proof, threw it away.  I'm sorry but I know know other way.

I hope this helps
