Auto Insurance Claims: car/deer accident, san francisco bay area, rate increase

Question
I was involved in a car/deer accident today the deer was unavoidable and in a running motion I am in the state of MI. Will my state pay my deductible for the repairs on my car?

Answer
Hi Tammie,
Sorry about the deer, hope you are OK.
No, The state will not pay your deductible.  Striking a wild animal falls under the Comprehensive portion of your policy which usually carries a much smaller deductible than the Collision portion.
This falls in the same category as a broken window and will not be considered a chargeable accident and will not cause a rate increase.
Hope this has been of help.
Your feedback by rating my answer will be appreciated.
