Auto Insurance Claims: Accident not my fault, dodge dakota club, dakota club cab

Question
Traveling north in center of 3 lane road.  TL green.  Car makes left turn from south lane to east lane and I run into car which turns me into outside lane where truck hits me on passenger side.  Truck driver agrees light green.  Car tried to beat traffic on my side.  My 1993 Dodge Dakota Club Cab totaled.  Went to doctors office for checkup; mainly bruised; given antiinflammatories.  What are my claim options against the car drivers insurance?  Will they replace my vehicle with comparable one or am I required to take a cash settlement?  I am in Alabama.  I appreciate your assistance in this matter.

Answer
Hi Bruce,
Glad to hear that your body held together better than the truck.  No, they will not replace your vehicle but will be making a cash settlement for your total loss.  You are entitled to a rental car while they are preparing an estimate.  If you use your truck in business, they are forced to provide you with a rental truck, otherwise, it will be a car.
You might as well start visiting used car lots, finding 4-5 trucks of like kind and condition and get the dealers lowest 'willing to sell for' price in writing on his letterhead.  This way, you will be able to immediately 'counter' their first 'lowball' offer.
Hope this has been of help, please send more questions if you feel that I can be of help.
Your feedback by rating my answer will be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Bennie
