Auto Insurance Claims: no visible damage, didnt exchange info, driver background, state plates

Question
About three months ago, I rear-ended a car at a stoplight going about 2 mph, so I pulled over along with the other driver. (Background: I was in a hurry to see my husband who was sick, and I was probably too casual about the accident but didn't realize it at the time.) We looked at her car, then mine for a minute or so. I said I didn't see any damage on either car, and everything looked all right, if she was OK with it. And she was like, um... okay. I have never been in a accident and didn't exchange insurance or info because I figured everything seemed fine, it was low impact and all. Do I have reason to worry she might have written down my plate number and called the cops? I have actually since changed my plates because I was new to town (they were out-of-state plates at the time). Would that slow the process of finding me if the authorities were involved? I am feeling paranoid for some reason. I wish we would have just exchanged info. I don't want to go to jail.

Answer
Hi Beth,

If 3 months have gone by with no contact from anyone, I do not think you have anything to worry about. Don't stress about this as there is not likely going to be any contact if it has not already happened.

I Hope this helps
