Auto Insurance Claims: PIP, own insurance, medical bill

Question
I had a car accident about a year ago and my PIP had concluded; but I need to continue to go to the doctor until I reach the max improvement.Last week, my own insurance let me a message saying that they going to close my file because my treatment had concluded. I know that they will not pay any medical bill after a year. But is it OK to let them close my file or I must make them to continue to open my case since I have not finish my treatment yet. I don`t have any idea about this situation, please help.
Thank you
Sincerely,
Lan

Answer
Hi Lan,
If you don't already have copies of all your medical bills then you need to secure them from the insurance company before they close the file.
Closing the file doesn't men it is destroyed, simply shipped to some distant warehouse where it must be kept for 7 years.
Sincerely,
Bennie
