Auto Insurance Claims: Faxes, certified mail, insurance adjuster

Dear Mr. Hixenbaugh,
Can faxes is as good as sending the insurance adjuster a certified mail since my company fax machine shows hardcopy of if the fax is completed or not? How about emailing? Thanks for your advise.

Hi Mega,

No. Although your fax machine may print out a receipt showing that you sent it, there is no proof that anyone on the other end received it. Email can be used but you should keep copies of everything that is sent and received and you should request a read receipt from your email program.
