Auto Insurance Claims: car accident other persons fault, state insurance commissioners, commissioners office

my mother was hit by a car that went through a stop sign yhis was march 15 2007 the other persons insurance country wide insurance received all the paper work police report, statements from us and there insurer and everytime we call we get the run around theybalways say they are going to send out an offer but they never do we have been waiting now over a month what  can we do? can we rent a car for my mother?and how long is long enough to resolve this problem  even there adjuster said it should only take a week but we are going to 2 months soon and getting nowhere my mothers car cant pass inspection soon because the front was smashed who should i contact if we are getting no where with this company should i go down in person ?

Most states require an insurance company to either pay or deny a claim within 30 days. You should contact your state Insurance Commissioners Office to file a formal complaint against the insurance company.
