Auto Insurance Claims: retroactive claim, retroactive claim, peoples insurance

Question
My daughter had an accident in Texas Feb., with 2 of her friends in her vehicle, they were all taken by ambulance and were fine...no parents wanted to file a claim at the time. I have since had the vehicle removed from my policy so it isn't insured any longer as I no longer own this car, now one of the parents want to file on the insurance, this accident was never reported to the insurance company...what do I do...what can I do..Thank you

Answer
Hi S,

You should immediately report the accident to your insurance company at the time of the accident. The fact that you have gotten rid of the car is not important. The parents if the injured friends are likely looking to make an injury claim. If your daughter was at fault in the accident then they will have a claim against your policy.  If the other vehicle was at fault, then their claim will be against the other peoples insurance company.

I hope this helps
