Auto Insurance Claims: stolen auto claim, stolen auto, auto claim


Question
How can I get the best compensation for my loss without
being shanked.It was an Silverado with 145k but ran great
and I can't replace it for less than 4k, before the deductable,TTL,etc.

Hi Bret,

You should research the value of your truck before the insurance company makes you an offer. Here are some websites where you can check your value:

1) www.nada.com
2) www.kbb.com
3) www.edmunds.com
4) www.autotrader.com

The last one will allow you to search for currently for sale vehicles like yours in your area. This way you can print out listings to show the insurance company.  

Also if you do not agree with the insurance company's offer, tell them to provide you with what ever documentation they used to determine the value. That way you can review it to look for mistakes.
