Auto Insurance Claims: How can i prove he was at fault?, taxi drivers, police report

Question
My name is Jeff and i am a resident of Ontario Canada....

I was driving in a Lh curb lane going to be making a turn 2 blocks up.  A taxi in the lane to the right of me tried to make a turn onto a side street and forced me to brake hard...and slammed into the side of his vehicle..causing damage to both vehicles...at the end of the accident the other vehicle was 2 feet into my lane....He claims that i changed into his lane....There where no police involved at the scene...however i filed a police report and notified my insurance company....I have 2 witnesses who witnessed the accident...but I am not sure how co-operative they will be?  even after he left the scene of the accident he drove up the street and took the next left onto another side street...

Answer
Hi Jef,

This will depend very heavily on the credibility and cooperation of your witnessess.  If they do not assist you, it will be a matter of your word against the taxi drivers word. You should contact the witnessess and request ther cooperation and assistance.

I hope this helps
