Auto Insurance Claims: Car Rental, insurance policy, insurance company

Question
My car was recently stolen. My insurance was going to settle for $23K. But the car was recovered three weeks later with minor damage. Now they want to repair it for $7k, but it will take another month to complete repairs.

My insurance explicitly states that I can retain a rental car for only one month per claim. And they have informed me that my month is up and I will lose my rental this week, despite the fact I will not have my car back for another month from repair. Is there anything I can do about this? Thanks!

Answer
I'm afraid that you are bound to the terms of the insurance policy just as the insurance company is.  30 days is 30 days.

What I'd be really questioning is whoever said it will take a month to do $7,000 worth of repairs.  Any tech better be putting out $7,000 a week, not a month or the shop will be out of business within 60 days.
