Auto Insurance Claims: new employment, injury settlement, drug test

Question
I was hired by a company pending a drug test right before my accident.  (I was rearended)  I took the drug test the day after the accident and was told to report to work 5 days later. I am unable to take this job because of the pain I have now.  Am I entitled to any compensation for what I could have made.

Answer
Hi G,

Part of an injury settlement would be lost wages. You will need to prove the lost wages. You will need a written statement from the employer indicating the day you were to start work and the amount of your pay. You will also need a statement from your doctor indicating your diagnosis and the fact that the pain you were experiencing would be sufficient to keep you from working, as well as the number of days you would be unable to work due to the pain.

I hope this helps
