Auto Insurance Claims: vehicle damage, leinholder, own insurance

Question
Do I have to have my vehicle repaired at a shop or can they pay me directly and do the repairs myself

Answer
Hello again G,

If you are dealing with your own insurance company and you have a leinholder, they will likely make the check payable to you and the leinholder or you and a shop.

If you were not at fault, then the insurance company can make the check payable to you.
