Auto Insurance Claims: accident, drivers license, insurance company

Question
I allowed my sister to drive my car and in the course of her day a young lady hit the car, accepted fault, exchanged personal info, and upon calling me, she apologized and promised to have it fixed. She preferred to pay out-of-pocket and has a very good paying job so I agreed. Well its been 2 1/2 weeks and she will not return my calls and is ignoring me.She won't even give me her insurance information. My question: Do I file a report, contact an attorney? Any advise?

Answer
Hi Neisha,

You should leave her one last message that says " I am giving you one last chance to contact me about this accident. If I do here from you by the end of the day, I will be contacting the police to file a formal report."

Then if she does not call you, you need to go to the police to file a report.  If she does call you, you need to get her insurance information, drivers license number etc.. to you can file the claim with her insurance company if she flakes out on you again.

I hope this helps
