i am being asked to settle with with the insurance company for $15000 and have medical bills of around $7000 and am being told by my chiropractor that i will need to keep coming in for at least one more year.  i want to know what cases have settled for in the past so i have some sort of ballpark figure as to what a fair and equitable settlement number would be

Generally, personal injury claims will settle for 3 to 10 time the medical bills. This is a wide range and is very subjective. It does depend on the extent of the injuries, whether there is any permanant injury, and the prognosis for a full recovery.
