Auto Insurance Claims: Auto Insurtance claim, squeeky wheel, state insurance department

Question
How long should it take to receive an answer for a claim?
Accident 7 days ago and still no answer. They haven't even looked at the car yet?

Answer
Hi Tim,

In most states an insurance company has 30 days to either pay or deny a claim.  You should call the insurance company every day until you get results. The squeeky wheel gets the grease. If you get no response from the claims adjuster, find out who his or her supervisor is and call the supervisor to complain about the inaction.  If you still get no action,  call your state insurance department to file a complaint against the insurance company.

I hope this helps
