Auto Insurance Claims: damge o my car, landloard, neigbor

Question
We had some sever weather her illinois the other day which caused a tree to fall on my car and damged the rear window and top we only have liable on it can you tell me if the homers insurance of or landloard or the neigbor would cover this damge we are get the run around on what we are to do and know we a car less

Answer
Hi Joy,

The only way that you can get the landlords or neighbors homeowners policy to pay for the damage to your car is if you can prove that the tree was dead or had termites and that they knew about it and did not remove it.  If the tree simply fell because of rain and wind then it is considered an act of god and they are not responsible.

I hope this helps
