Auto Insurance Claims: Whos at fault?, freeway ramp, odd reason

Question
I was stopped at a redlight off the freeway ramp.  The ramp I was on had 4 lanes.  I was in the middle left lane that was marked to go Straight only onto the freeway.  The very left lane had markings to go either straight or left, depending on the drivers preference.  The light turned green and I, for some odd reason, thought that my lane was a left straight lane also.  So I proceeded to take a left without checking my shoulder because I thought it was a regular left lane.  A car in the very left lane was going straight and I guess did not see me and ran into the left side of my rear bumper with the right side of her front bumper.  Who is at fault in this accident?

Answer
Let me see if I understand what just happened here.

You tried to make a turn from a lane marked for straight ahead traffic only and someone who was apparantly not doing anything wrong was unfortunate enough to be a victim of your mistake and ran into you.

Then, after you should already know that you were clearly at fault, decide to bother a volunteer on a website with a question that you already know the answer to.

Then, when that volunteer gives an answer that you don't like (the truth), you give him a poor feedback rating.

What a loser you are.
