Auto Insurance Claims: Personal injury, personal injurys, automobile accident

I used this service before, and would like some more good advice....
I was in an automobile accident a short time ago where the Car was dammaged and I was inconvenienced [without transportation] for seven days. I was given a check for the dammage to the Car, but the inconvenience of being left without transportation was unsettled. I would like to know if the inconvenience would qualify as "personal dammage". I would also like to know if their is a chart that Insurance Co's go by for personal injurys. I was told once if I was to get a lawyer to write them some sort of letter I would get better treatment, would you know about what kind of letter?. Also would you know if their is a statue of limitations on time. Thank you for your time and experance.

I'm not sure why you didn't get a rental car and send them the bill, but what's done is done.
