Question

Are my rims covered on my auto Insurance? I put 24" rims on my car they where stolen and the thieth droped my car on the floor the car has several damages is this a part of not fault claim?

Answer
Hi Ruben,

I do not know what kind of coverage you have purchased.  So I cannot know for sure what is covered.

Theft of your car that results in damages is going to be treated under your comprehensive clause.  If you did not purchase comprehensive, then NO, your loss will not be covered by your own company.

You asked if this loss is covered under your "No-Fault" provisions.  That part of your policy is a liability section in which personal injuries are taken care of.

Assuming you have comprehensive, then yes, your wheels should be covered.  If they say no dice on this, just check it out with your state insurance commissioner http://www.settlementcentral.com/links.php to be sure.

And if you have no coverage, be sure to contact the prosecuting attorney and get your receipts or other proof of loss in her file so she can ask for restitution from the thief should they find him and convict them.

Also, check with the prosecuting attorney to see whether or not there is a state crime victims act whereby victims of a crime can be compensated for his losses.

Best Wishes,
