Auto Insurance Claims: Auto claim, state insurance commissioner, land rover range rover

Question
While I was at work one day my vehicle was vandalized by one of the clients there.  I work at Father Baker Victory Services if that helps any.  We are to watch children from the ages 12-21. Anyways, when my car was vandalized I was informed by my employer to get 2 estimates so I did.  They were almost very similar approx. $8000 ea.  They then sent me to a collision shop that they deal with and the collision shop also agreed with my previous estimates.  about 2 months later after handing everything that they asked for I recieved a check in the mail for Approx $4000 with no explanation why.  When I called the issuing  Insurance rep. they told me pretty much O' well....too bad.  I've been trying to get ahold of the Pres of the company for where I work to explain the situation to hime but he nevver calls me back.  And I havn't cashed the check yet.  I also have an interested buyer for my vehicle (1999 Land Rover Range Rover) but they want me to deduct the $8000 of damages from my asking price.  PLEASE HELP!!!!!  WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Answer
Dear Ahmed Dhali,

This is OUTRAGEOUS conduct if in fact your estimates were both at $8,000 and the insurance company will not offer an explanation.  DO NOT LET THEM TELL YOU THAT YOUR TWO SHOPS WERE TOO HIGH.  YOU GET TO PICK YOUR OWN SHOPS AND DO NOT HAVE TO GO TO THEIR SHOP.

Contact your state insurance commissioner IMMEDIATELY http://www.settlementcentral.com/links.php

(Scroll down a bit on that page)

Let the insurance adjuster know what has happened is unsatisfactory and that you are filing a complaint with the state insurance commissioner.  I bet that the threat of a complaint will bring your missing money.

It is a bit confusing to me how your boss works into the picture.  But since they are the ones paying for the insurance, they should know that they are not getting their money's worth, so put your complaint IN WRITING and send it to them.

DON'T SELL NOW if you are going to lose $4,000 since I think if you go forward with the threat of a state insurance commissioner complaint, they will come around pretty quickly.

I trust that this information has been of value to you, and thus I respectfully request that you find the feedback form on this site and leave some feedback for me.

Best wishes,
