Auto Insurance Claims: Auto Accident w/Suspended License, license situation, driving with a suspended license

Question
I was recently involved in an auto accident wherein the police officer at the scene determined that it was the other driver's fault.  However, I was driving with a suspended license.  My vehicle sustained some damage, but I was able to drive it away from the scene with no problem.  The car I was driving is in my husband's name and we are fully insured, but again I was driving with a suspended license.  Is there any way that I can submit a claim so that I can have the necessary repairs done on my car?  I haven't contacted my insurance company or the other driver's insurance company yet.  I am assuming that my insurance company will deny any claim considering my license situation, but what about the other driver's insurance company?  Is there a chance that they will pay to repair my car even though I was driving with a suspended license because their insured was determined to be at fault?

Answer
The other insurer will pay for your damages if they determine their driver was at fault.  Your suspended license is not relevant, unless there is  dispute as to the facts, in which case they might give you less credibility.

Your insurer will also cover the loss, even with a suspended license, unless you are listed as an excluded driver on the policy, or unless you or your husband misrepresented information about your license.  But your best bet is to make the claim with the other driver's insurer and let them pay.
