Auto Insurance Claims: insurance claim, Lost Claim Payment

Question
Hello, my concern is in 1999 while driving a deer ran in front of my vehicle causing me to hit it. The vehicle was taking to the repair shop where they gave me an estiment on the total cost to repair the vehicle. On 5/14/99 a check was mailed to me from the insurance company. but at the time i was moving and the check never got cashed. If i was to inform the insurance company of this concern, would another check be issued from them?

Answer
Yes; You should call your claims-representative and advise them the draft (check) has been lost and they will then place a "stop-pay" on it and re-issue you another.

I would first check with your body shop to be sure the draft was not sent to them.

Hope this answers your question.
